Summer 1- 2018

In Literacy we will be continuing with our daily phonics lessons working through phase 3 of Letters and Sounds. In our reading we will enjoying non-fiction and fiction stories about our topic of space. The children will be encouraged to identify tricky words and decodable words as they read. We will be encouraging the children to continue to answer questions and make predictions related to a text. In writing we will be focusing on being able to independently write a sentence and read it back to themselves.

Reception's class puppet 'Beat Baby' went missing from Mrs Shutt's class. The children made 'lost' posters to place around the school. Suddenly a wolf appeared in the car park! Did he take our Beat Baby? If he did then why?? This was a great conversation and ideas session for our literacy work.
