Parent Drop in

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to you to ask for your help.  We are sure that some of our families who are not currently receiving free school meals are in fact entitled.  School receives funding for each child that has a free meal called pupil premium and as school budgets are being cut the extra funding will have a positive effect on your child’s education as the money is used to help raise achievement levels.  It is quite confusing for parents who have children in year Reception, Year 1 and 2 because under the Universal Free School meal scheme children receive a free meal anyway.  Many of you may think why do we still need to apply?

To help parents apply we are holding a drop in session on Wednesday 3rd May 2017 at 9.15am.

We will have staff on hand who will help complete an online application form.  Refreshments and pastries will be provided.  Please note on the back of this letter we have listed the benefits that you need to be in receipt of for your application to be successful.

We cannot stress how important it is for school, and more importantly your child’s education, to claim what they are entitled to.

Please complete the slip below if you will be attending the drop in session.  If the date and time is not suitable for you please contact the school office and we will arrange another date and time.

Thank you

Mrs P Deus

Headteacher.

I will be attending the drop in session on Wednesday 3rd May at 9.15am.
