Food Information Regulations 2014 - Allergens

 

The new Food Information Regulations came into force December 2014. These legislations place a new requirement on all those selling food in a canteen or restaurant and require that the 14 main allergens are identified if they are used in ingredients in a dish. The 14 main allergens are celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya and sulphur dioxide. To comply with this new legislation allergy advice is included on the school dinner menu section.
