Science

Summer 1- 2018

This half term we will be looking how light moves and how shadows are created. The children will recognise that light appears to travel in straight lines. We will use the idea that light travels in straight lines to explain that objects are seen because they give out or reflect light into the eye and be able t explain that we see things because light travels from light sources to our eyes or from  light sources to objects and then to our eyes.

Spring 2-2018

We have been planning different types of scientific enquiries to answer questions, including recognising and controlling variables where necessary. We have had lots of fun looking at our bodies our reactions and our immunity. We have been using test results to make predictions to set up further comparative and fair tests

The Circulatory System - We made blood out of oil (plasma), marshmallows (white blood cells), hundreds and thousands (platelets) and cherries (red blood cells). We considered the % of each in our blood and their function.
