Behaviour

Stage 2+ behaviours should be recorded below

(a score of 0 results in automatic loss of reward day)

Poor/unacceptable behaviour, distractible, disruptive, aggressive.  Requires high level of staff input and reminders.

Regular Stage 3+ behaviours

Regular verbal reminders required Repeated Stage 2 and an occasional Stage 3 behaviour

Usually good behaviour; pays attention and concentrates.  Occasional  Stage 1 verbal reminders required/Stage 2 behaviour is rare

Excellent behaviour, always respectful, trustworthy and responsible.

Effort

Stages of Tracked Behaviour

STAGE 1 A warning with a quick explanation of the child’s behaviour and a positive request to improve their behaviour

STAGE 2 5 minutes time out in the classroom sitting alone in a designated area, thinking about their behaviour and the poor choice they are making. Children must use a ‘Think About’ card.

STAGE 3 10 minutes time out in a different classroom. Children must use a ‘Think About’ card.

STAGE 4 The class teacher will discuss the behaviour with the child at playtime or lunchtime and fill out a Contact Sheet. The child completes a Stage 4 record sheet reflecting on the rules they have broken, why they chose to do it and what they can do to make amends.

STAGE 5  Child is sent to the Deputy Headteacher. The child completes a Stage 5 sheet and the teacher/member of staff completes a Significant Incident form (with/without restraint) followed by the setting of a written task (age/need appropriate). The Headteacher may become involved depending on the nature, severity and frequency of the behaviour. Parents are informed by letter. Parents may be contacted immediately by telephone depending on the incident.
