10th December 2020
Dear Parents/Guardians,
For all of us, Christmas 2020 is going to be quite different, but for one member of our staff, it is going to be especially so. Mrs Teresa Jagger, who has served our school and Mother Teresa’s before it, for over 32 years, is going to be retiring from her work as a Teaching Assistant here at Trinity.
After such long and committed years of service, Mrs Jagger requested redundancy when the opportunity arose recently and is now looking forward to trips to America to visit her son who lives over there.
On my first visits here to the Trinity, Teresa was one of the first members of staff I met. My memory of that meeting is of a cheerful, welcoming lady with a big smile and I don’t think that smile has left her face form that day on! Working with her on the First Communion programme, I soon became known as ‘Our Anne’. I don’t know what could make a Wiganer feel more welcome than that!
I am sure that has been the experience of so many of you, as parents, sharing Teresa’s kindness with your children and even (perhaps!) as pupils yourselves in years past.
That Teresa cares for everyone with her big heart is without doubt. She is a ‘giver’ in service to her school and also to her parish. I know Fr. Richard would join me in thanking Teresa for her loyalty to the local parish, as a Eucharistic Minister and more recently as a ‘‘Covid -Safe’’ volunteer.
I know you will all want to join me ,the staff and the governors in sending a huge thank you to Teresa for everything she has done for the Trinity family and its local community as well as wishing her a very long and extremely happy retirement.
Your sincerely,
Anne Shepherd
Chair of Governors
