Today, Year 5 continued to learn about living things.  Pupils learned about the life cycle of amphibians and compared these with insects, mammals and birds.  They learned about the Great Crested Newt and its metamorphosis from larva through to adulthood.

Do you know the name for a young newt? Scroll down to find out.

Answer: It's an eft!

9/07/2018-Year 2 at the beach

Today we went to the beach as part of our seaside topic. We spent the afternoon rolling in the sand, digging and making sands castles as well as playing lots of beach games. We finished our day with delicious ice-creams!

04/07/2018

Today we had very special visitors known as ICE CATS. They taught us how to be safe inside and outside of school (and online!). We learnt how to do a safety train and how to cross the road. We also learnt how to protect ourselves from strangers.

1/07/2018

Today our school turned into a film studio!

Sheridan Smith (The Moorside, Cilla), Alison Steadman (Hold The Sunset, Gavin & Stacey) and Sinead Keenan (Little Boy Blue, Being Human) will star in Care, a new drama written by Jimmy McGovern (Broken, The Accused, The Street) and Gillian Juckes, whose real life experiences formed the inspiration for the story. The 90-minute drama will be produced by LA Productions for BBC One.

Our school has been part of this production. Some of our choir children were asked to perform two song within our premises. We loved taking part and had getting to meet the stars. The show will be aired later this year.
