Year 3 have been looking at personal and private information. They then decided whether they would share their information with people in the scenarios they looked at.
Year 3 have been exploring ways we use the internet and why people post certain content.
Year 3 have started Safer Internet Day by watching the virtual assembly. We looked at the words trust and reliability which links with this years theme for #SaferInternetDay and decided if we should trust or check various scenarios.
We have been looking at ways we should behave online and what to do if we have a negative experience when using technology.
Autumn 2 2020
Year 3 have been looking at visual coding and writing explanations for what a piece of code means and what will happen if that code is executed.
Year 3 have been exploring the application Scratch Jr. We have been getting familiar with the buttons in preparation to create our own algorithms.
Year 3 have been looking at why it is important to create strong Usernames and Passwords. We also created our own Username and Passwords and tested how secure they are.
We have been writing our own algorithms and testing them using Scratch Jr. The children were very excited to have this opportunity to write and code their own algorithms.
Year 3 have been looking at what a sequence is, correcting sequences and drawing a flow chart to represent a computer sequence.
Year 3 have been using Google search to help create their own version of the game 'heads up'
Autumn 1 2020
Year 3 have been exploring what is meant by the term 'Online Identity' and how we can keep ourselves safe whilst enjoying the positives technology bring us.
Year 3 have been producing their own digital book all about themselves. A great way to introduce themselves to their new class teacher. We have been learning how to add images, text and audio to enhance our digital work. Once completed we then published and uploaded our work.
Year 3 have been exploring the World Wide Web, using Google Advanced Search skills to authenticate facts and identify places around the world.
In line with their Art topic, Year 3 have been using the application Sketchbook to create digital pieces of their artwork focusing on their journey's to school.
